THE CINEMA - AN ESCAPE

Submitting to Saynario, Amna writes: “The concept behind this submission is how the vast majority of us go to the cinema as an escape from reality, it has always been there for us. We connect to our beloved characters for hours, absorbing the entire scene - from their emotions, clothing, to even atmosphere - that when the movie ends, it’s like our souls have been returned to our bodies.”

WHY YOU STILL THINK ABOUT THAT SCENE FROM DISNEY’S “UP”

B brilliantly analyzes the genius behind the iconic scene from Pixar’s “Up”, which details Carl and Ellie’s backstory, and why it’s so impactful from a filmmaking and narrative standpoint, infusing life and heart into the film and its main character, with zero dialogue.

“A combination of numerous factors mainly great music, storytelling and direction which makes it well, magic. (…) If we strip the montage to its core, it’s just great visuals with even better music and this is why in my opinion, the Married Life sequence from Pixar’s Up is one of the best animated scenes of all time.”
